Empowering
Visually Impaired Through Music
We Are Your Eyes - A club supporting the visually impaired through music
At We Are Your Eyes, we are dedicated to using music as a means of empowerment for the visually impaired. Founded in June 2022, the club’s mission is to create opportunities for those who cannot see the world as we do, allowing them to feel included, valued, and capable.
One of the most meaningful projects we’ve embarked on is organizing charity music shows, including the “Light From Heart” and “I See Your Voice” performances, which raised significant funds for local shelters and provided much-needed support for the visually impaired community.

Piano teaching for visually impaired children
I also had the honor of teaching piano to four visually impaired children at the Nhat Hong Thi Nghe Shelter for over a year.
Through these lessons, I was able to help them not only master the instruments but also build confidence in their ability to perform and earn additional income. Music became a path for them to gain independence and become self-sufficient, proving that with the right support, they can overcome any barrier and lead fulfilling lives through the power of sound.

Part-time Piano Teacher at Saigon Piano School

My journey in supporting the visually impaired community extended beyond just organizing performances. In August 2025, I had the opportunity to teach at Saigon Piano School as a part-time piano teacher. During my one-month internship, I taught four beginner students, focusing on developing their foundational techniques and understanding of music theory.
I earned $10 per hour, which I chose to allocate toward purchasing a piano for the Nhat Hong Thi Nghe Shelter, where more 40+ visually impaired children can learn and connect through music. This gesture wasn't just about providing an instrument; it was a way to give these children a chance to explore their musical potential and, in doing so, create a bridge for their future success.

What the eyes cannot see, the soul can often hear more clearly through music.
Braille Printer for Converting Educational Materials for Visually Impaired Students
While teaching at the shelter, I noticed the challenges these children faced due to the lack of accessible educational materials in Braille. This realization drove me to develop a low-cost Braille printer using 3D printing technology to convert regular educational materials into Braille. From March to June 2025, I worked on designing and perfecting this Braille printer, which has since been used to enhance the learning experience for visually impaired students.
By integrating algorithms into the printer's software, I was able to optimize its performance, ensuring that these children have access to the same music education resources as sighted students. The success of this project is a testament to the power of innovation, empathy, and the belief that everyone, regardless of their challenges, deserves the opportunity to learn and grow through music.

The fabrication process for the Braille printer begins with material preparation, including laser-cut plywood sheets, followed by machining and assembling the frame. The core technical phase involves installing and connecting the control brain—the MKS GEN-L V2.1 electronic circuit. Operationally, the user must first process the document through the BrailleRAP software to convert the text into Braille language. Only then does the printer receive the command and proceed to print the Braille document. Finally, the product underwent comprehensive testing and evaluation to ensure its accurate and effective operation before being put into use."
